[3] Emergency Telephone Switching Test
The general description of the "Emergency Telephone" is explained below.
Call Path Control Unit
Telephone terminal to be connected to EMA TEL will be ISDN terminal or Terminal Adapter + Analog Tele-

phone. The line connected directly to the ISDN line using this feature will be LINE 0 only.
Connect the ISDN line on the LINE 0 side and ISDN telephone (or TA + Analog Telephone) on the
EMA TEL side. About the cable length, locate the ISDN terminal (or TA) below 1000 meters (3280
feet) from the DSU.
Test of MG-BRI before completing the initialization
Turn OFF the power of MG-BRI by pulling out the AC code of AC Adapter.
STEP 1
See if the ISDN terminal (or TA + Analog Telephone) can be connected directly and originate/termi-

nate a call to/from ISDN network.
Test of case when WAN is faulty
Turn ON the power of MG-BRI by plugging in the AC code of AC Adapter, then confirm the status is

in "ON LINE" after initialization.
Pull out the connector from the LAN and wait until MG-BRI detects the WAN fault. (About 4 minutes)

See if the ISDN terminal (or TA + Analog Telephone) can be connected directly and originate/termi-

"Emergency Telephone" will be effective until the MG-BRI status changes to "ON LINE" when turning
