4.15 Together, the circuit cards in the chassis perform the switching activities for the system,
detect incoming calls, process data-controlled features, control the interaction of station instru-
ments, trunks, intercom calls, and Voice Processing applications, etc.
4.16 The system is a microprocessor-controlled, pulse code modulation (PCM), time-divi-
sion multiplex (TDM) system.

The CPU64 and CPU128 cards have 6 megabytes (MB) flash ROM and 4 MB random
access memory (RAM).
The CPU128 with memory daughter card has 6 MB flash ROM and 6 MB RAM.
NOTE:
Versions 8.0 and later require the CPC for 64, 128, or 256 systems.
The CPU020-D card has 4 MB flash ROM and 4 MB RAM, the CPU020-Q card has 4-
6 MB flash ROM and 8 MB RAM.
The CPU020-X has 2 MB flash ROM and 2 MB RAM.
NOTE:
Versions 8.0 and later require a CPU020/PCM/EAC with a CP Server for 512
or higher systems.
The CPC has 16 MB flash ROM, 32 MB SDRAM, and 8 MB battery-backed SRAM.
Each phone contains a microprocessor that communicates via the Digital Keyset Card
with the microprocessor on the CPU card or CPC.
The CPU020/PCM can have extended memory added. The kit (U.S. part number
828.1405) contains four RAM chips that are installed in sockets on the CPU020/PCM.
The CPU020/PCM/EAC and CPU (CP Server) are designed to support heavily loaded
systems with high call traffic. The call processing software has been moved from the
system CPU to a CP Server that communicates with the phone system via a 10Base-T
Ethernet connection. For more information about this special CPU, see

The CPU020/PCMA and Windows 2000-based CPU (CP Server) are designed to sup-
port an ATM-based system. The call processing software has been moved from the sys-
tem CPU to a Windows 2000-based server that communicates with the phone system
