Call Processing (CP) Server
NOTE:
4.74 The Call Processing (CP) Server is a PC-based CPU for the phone system. This PC runs
one of the following operating systems:
Windows NT
Windows 2000
Windows 2003 (see "Call Processing Server on Windows Server 2003: Windows
Server® 2003 (Telco version) operating system (OS) with Service Pack 2 (SP2) is now
supported for the Call Processing Server (CPS). Field upgrades must be done by certi-
fied technicians only." on
4.75 For an ATM-based system, Windows 2000 or later is required. The call processing soft-
ware has been moved from the chassis CPU to this CP Server which communicates with the
system via the ATM Switch or via a 10Base-T Ethernet connection.
4.76 For a non-ATM system, the PC and equipment chassis are connected using a cross-con-
nect Ethernet cable and use the UDP (User Datagram Protocol) to transfer data across a direct
connection or a LAN connection. For an ATM-based system, the PC connects directly to the
ATM Switch via a multi-mode fiber (MMF) or CAT5 cable.
4.77 A CP Server is recommended for the following types of installations:
Any node using the ATM Switch (Windows 2000 is required)
Any node with more than 355 display phones
Any networked node with a Voice Processing Unit with more than 16 ports and more
than 128 Executive Display, Professional Display, or Model 8560 Phones
Any networked node with a Voice Processing Unit with Automated Attendant and/or
Call Routing Applications that handle more than 1000 calls in an hour
A node with centralized voice mail that supports more than four nodes or a total of
1500 off-node devices
A node with all-ring or multiple-ring hunt groups with ten or more stations that handle
more than 500 calls in an hour
A node with all-ring hunt groups that contain off-node devices
A node with hunt groups containing more than 100 members
A node with a page zone containing more than 60 stations that receives more than 30
pages in an hour
A node used as an outgoing call center with more than 100 agents
A heavily-loaded node that uses any System OAI applications
A node with more than five ISDN Primary Rate trunks for private networking or to the
central office [local exchange in Europe]
4.78 The non-ATM CPU020 has an 80-pin connector that attaches to the Ethernet Adapter
Card (EAC). In addition, the PCM faceplate has an extra cutout for the RJ45 connector on the
EAC. The three components, CPU020, PCM, and EAC, are available in two configurations:
CPU020/PCM-D with an EAC (U.S. part no. 550.9026)
CPU020/PCM-F with an EAC (U.S. part no. 550.9025)
