UPLOADING IP DEVICES
Inter-Tel recommends that you upgrade the firmware on the IP endpoints BEFORE you
upgrade the IPRC. If you upgrade the IPRC first, the endpoints cannot connect to the IPRC,
but they continuously try. During these connection attempts, the Upload Utility cannot con-
nect with the endpoints.
12.6 The latest version of the Upload Utility (previously called the Board Utility) allows you
to upgrade multiple IP devices at once. This feature was implemented to assist installers who
need to upgrade the IP devices to take advantage of the version 8.1 and later features (i.e.,
peer-to-peer audio).
12.7 With the Upload Utility, you can also save your settings so that you do not have to con-
figure information for every upload. For example, you can create an entry used strictly for
IPRCs on Node 2. Or, you can create one for all hard IP endpoints, such as the Model 8660, in
your network.
12.8 The Inter-Tel Upload Utility application allows you to upload object code to upgrade
the firmware in IP devices.
