L. MISCELLANEOUS ENDPOINTS
5.65 Versions 8.1 and later also support the following endpoints:
•
Model 8601 SoftPhone for Pocket PC: Is a software-based SIP softphone that runs on
selected Pocket PC 2002 (or later) Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) platforms. For
information about installation and programming, refer to the Model 8601 Installation
Manual (document part no. 835.2736).
•
Models 8664, 8665, 8668: Are wireless, compact telephones that use ITP. For details,
refer to the SVP Server and Model 8664/8665/8668 Installation Manual (document part
no. 935.4521).
This manual does not provide the instructions necessary to install and program these
phones. If installing these phones, please see the appropriate manual previously specified.
M. SINGLE-LINE SETS
5.66 Up to 512 industry-standard, AC-ringing, single-line DTMF or pulse-tone sets may be
installed on the Inter-Tel system. (Version 2.x or later software is required for pulse-tone sets.)
The single-line sets are connected to Single-Line Cards (up to eight per card), 16-Port Single-
Line Cards (up to 16 per card), or to Single-Line Adapters (up to two per adapter) that are con-
nected to available DKSC or DKSC-16/DKSC-16+ circuits. A single-line set may also be con-
nected to any MDPM-equipped Executive Display, Professional Display, Standard Display,
Associate Display, Model 8520, or Model 8560 Phone.
NOTE:
5.67 Single-line set users access some station features simply by lifting the handset and
entering a feature code. Other features are accessed using a combination of a hookflash [recall
in Europe] and a feature code. See the FEATURES section of this manual for details.
5.68 Each SLC can be equipped with an optional Lamp Option Card (LOC) to provide visual
message waiting capabilities for single-line sets equipped with message lamps. SLAs do not
support visual message waiting applications. Single-line sets, whether connected to SLCs or
SLAs, are then configured in DB Programming to receive visual and/or audible message wait-
ing indication tones.
5.69 Optional Handset Amplifiers: The typical handset amplifier is an external device that
plugs into the single-line set (where the handset is normally connected); the handset is then
plugged into the amplifier. Receiver voice volume is controlled by turning a thumbwheel (or
similar control) located on the amplifier. Such amplifiers are generally equipped with a trans-
former that requires an AC outlet. See

To use IP endpoints in SIP mode, SIP Server v1.1 or later is required.
DC-ringing single-line devices may not be connected to SLCs or SLAs.
