MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
Attach a 1/8-inch, two-conductor (mono), mini-phone plug to one end of a 5- to 10-foot
(1.5- to 3.0- meter) length of shielded speaker cable (or twisted-pair cable) to run from
the external music source to the CPC, CPU card, or OPC.
NOTE:
A stereo plug does not work properly in the MOH jack. If the stereo earphone
output of an external music source is used, a stereo-mono adapter should be used
between the stereo output jack and the monaural cable.
EITHER, connect the other end of the cable to the speaker output terminals of the music
source.
OR, if the music source has an earphone jack, attach the necessary connector to the
other end of the cable, and plug it into the earphone jack on the music source.
NOTE:
If the earphone jack is "padded" so that the optimal volume level cannot be
reached, the EITHER procedure (above) may be more effective.
Plug in the AC power cord for the music source. DO NOT use the outlet for the equip-
ment chassis.
Turn on the AC power to the music source.
Insert the 1/8-inch mini-phone plug into the jack labeled MUSIC on the edge of the
CPC, CPU card, or OPC.
From a phone:
EITHER, select a trunk and dial the telephone number of one of the other trunks to call
back into the system. Put the call on hold to hear the music.
OR, place an intercom call to another station. Put the call on hold to hear the music.
While listening to music-on-hold, adjust the volume on the music source to an accept-
able level.
