G. FILTERING LISTS OF DEVICES
10.20 DB Programming contains a filtering feature which increases the speed with which you
can sort the items in a list of devices. This allows much faster importation of data for the selec-
tion process and can be used to quickly find devices that meet certain criteria when you are
searching for them.
10.21 Filtering is available each time you choose to add to a list (for example, adding to a list
of members of hunt groups, adding to a list of stations with a particular class of service, adding
to a list of Audiotex recordings, etc.). The first step in adding to the list brings up a dialog box
as shown below:
10.22 First, you must select a device type to include. The sample box shown above was cop-
ied from the interface for adding members to a hunt group. If
selected, the next screen would show a list of all devices of the type(s) selected.
10.23 With filtering, it is possible to narrow your search even further. To make use of the fil-
tering option, select one device type (filtering cannot be used if more than one device type is
selected). Then enable
Fields" areas of the screen. The Specify a Filter box is used to provide a statement specifying
the exact search parameters. The Available Fields box provides a list of the fields that can be
used in building the search statement.
10.24 Electing to use filtering will also make available the "Load Filter," "Save Filter," and
"Clear Filter" boxes which are used to save and restore filter statements to and from your disk
drive. When the "Use filter" option is selected, the screen will change to look like this:
10.25 If no filter statement is specified, clicking
