Relay: (6-pin, 6-conductor modular jack or line jack unit) Currently used for power
failure transfer equipment only. A power failure transfer jack can be used for connect-
ing one or more single-line sets to predetermined CO [local exchange] trunks in the
event of processor card failure or a power failure. The output is one normally-open
(deactivated) double-pole, double-throw (DPDT) relay (actually wired as SPDT) that is
held closed (activated) during system operation. Additional equipment needed includes
a customer-provided PFT relay card and card mounting case. The relay contact ratings

Music-On-Hold Port: Connects an external music source (such as a radio, tape player,
etc.) that can be heard by callers when they are placed on hold or camped on. It may
also be used for phone background music. This is an 1/8-inch (3-mm), two-conductor
(mono), mini-phone jack. For installation instructions, see
ming, music can be enabled or disabled, and each trunk group (as well as transfer
audio) can be assigned music, silence, or tick-tones. See
MING. This port supports A-law or mu-law companding, which is configured in DB
Programming (System\Flags\Companding Type).

External Paging Jack: (RCA-type phono jack with an output impedance of 600 ohms)
Connects external paging speaker equipment to allow paging to large areas, such as
warehouses or loading docks. For installation instructions, see

Built-in Network Clock Card (NCC): Provides the smooth, error-free clock transi-
tions required for T1 or E1/PRI applications. If any T1 or E1/PRI Cards are installed in
the equipment chassis, the network clock circuitry provides the clock function for the
entire system.
Do not use a Network Clock Card (NCC) with the CPC. Using an NCC with this card causes
erratic problems which may disable the system. If upgrading an existing CPU64 or CPU128
to a CPC, you must remove the NCC before installing the CPC. If the CPC detects an NCC,
the system continually resets.

Software Security and Feature Program: Supports a software license that enables
functionality on the card. This feature serves two purposes: 1) the PAL is no longer
required; and 2) feature and/or device upgrades are possible without replacing the card.

Modem: Provides a built-in modem that is capable of transferring data at speeds up to
33600 bps. This modem is always equipped and is basically a system serial port that
you must "call." Because the connection is established via a call, each CPC modem in a
chassis is assigned an extension (1500 by default). For details about the modem, see

Rechargeable Battery: Replaces the lithium battery that is available on CPU cards and
is rechargeable. If the power to the CPC is lost, this battery stores the system database
for up to a month (30 days). After power is restored, the battery recharges itself. This
battery can be recharged more than 400 times before it needs to be replaced.
