details). There is no auto-download for the IPRC software from Call Processing. The
Board Utility supports an RS-232 method as well as a TFTP method over IP for upload-
ing the firmware onto the IPRC. Inter-Tel recommends using the TFTP method for
uploading the firmware.

10.81 VoIP Resources: All IP endpoints use one VoIP resource on the IPRC and each VoIP
resource reserved for networking also uses a resource on that IPRC in the v9.0 and later con-
figuration. All IP endpoints are allowed to come online until the VoIP-resource limit for the
IPRC is reached.
10.82 Camping on for VoIP Resources: When an IP endpoint comes online, the system may
not have sufficient VoIP resources to allocate to the endpoint. If this happens, the endpoint
camps on for a VoIP resource until it is available. While camping on for the resource, the end-

these interfaces to call processing, and call processing may quickly override such changes.
Therefore, you should only use these interfaces for troubleshooting purposes when Call Pro-
cessing is not communicating with the IPRC. When you attempt to save any configuration
changes using these interfaces, the IPRC warns you that those changes are overwritten the next
time the card communicates with Call Processing. The firmware operation is as follows:
Companding Type: An IPRC transmits audio data using the system-wide companding
type.
DTMF: When DTMF tone is detected, the system uses the DTMF encoding settings
dictated by DB Programming (see
encoding settings).
Minor and Major Resets: When an IPRC encounters a software fault (minor reset),
the system attempts to reconnect all conversations and data connections. After a major
reset, the system cannot re-establish existing connections.
