C. CPU64 OR CPU128 CARD
NOTE:
must install a CPC for 64, 128, and 256 systems and a CP Server for 512 and higher systems.
10.5 CPU128: The Central Processing Unit 128 (CPU128) card can be used only in single-
chassis or dual-chassis systems. In tri-chassis or quad-chassis systems, the CPU020-Q/PCM-F
card must be used in the first (master) chassis and the CPU020-X/PCM-F card must be used in
the third (slave) chassis. See
combinations.
10.6 CPU128 with Memory Daughter Card: The CPU128 card (part no. 550.2017) comes
equipped with a memory daughter card (part no. 550.2016) to support increased system fea-
tures. A daughter card adds extra RAM to the existing CPU128 card. Additional capacity
enables all available features on a system to function properly. This card replaces an existing
CPU128 (part no. 550.2015). See
the daughter card.
10.7 CPU64: The CPU64 card is identical to the CPU128 card, except that it only supports
up to 64 devices and it can be used only in a single-chassis system. Like the CPU128, the
CPU64 card uses flash memory circuitry. Other CPU64 features include the following:
It can be used with the 4-amp, 6-amp, or 9-amp power supplies. (However, the EVMC
cannot be used with the 6-amp power supply.)
It can be used with any of the voice mail platforms (EVMC or Windows-based Voice
Processing Unit).
NOTE:
or later.
It can be used in a node in a phone system network. However, the node should not be a
hub and its voice mail system should not support any other nodes.
If any T1 or E1 Cards are to be installed in an equipment chassis using the CPU64 card
configuration, a single T1 or E1 Network Clock Card must also be installed. Then,
instead of using the clock circuitry on the CPU card, the NCC becomes the clock for the
entire system. The NCC provides the smooth, error-free clock transitions required for
T1 or E1 applications. You can use only one PRI-equipped T1 or E1 card with the
CPU64.
10.8 Install the CPU64 or CPU128 as follows:
Check the part number and socket number printed on the feature-unit PAL. They must
1.
match the software configuration purchased by the customer and should be labeled with
the correct part number and installed in socket number U4. (The boot ROM and mem-
ory map PAL are already installed on the card.)
Place the CPU card on a clean, flat, anti-static, non-conductive surface.
2.
Carefully install the feature unit PAL in the socket labeled "Feature Unit PAL" on the
3.
card. (See
