11.10 If desired, you can connect the switch to a LAN using the Ethernet port. You can then
assign an IP address to this port so that you can program the switch remotely.
Security is the responsibility of the customer's network administrator. Inter-Tel is not respon-
sible for network problems due to security violations involving the IP address exposure of
the ATM switch. This includes, but is not limited to, toll fraud and interrupted network ser-
vice.
NOTE:

11.11 To program the Ethernet port for an ASX-200BX switch:

address of your host first. Otherwise, you will lose IP connectivity to the switch)? (yes,

Depending on the previous ELAN settings, the following prompt may be displayed:
Would you like to configure LAN Emulation services on this switch? (yes, no) [no]
If this prompt appears, type yes and press

Inter-Tel recommends that you use a static IP address for the Ethernet port. Consult the
Establish a terminal session on the serial port and access the root menu (see steps 1-5
under "Defaulting the Switch").
At the root menu, type system and press

Answer the following questions as indicated.
What name do you want to give the switch? [Node X ATM SWITCH]
Type ICP ATM SWITCH and press
What is this switch's software license key? [Base]
Press . The switch responds with "The software license remains unchanged."
