3.23 When a card is changed, one of the following may occur:
When a card slot is modified to contain a DKSC, DKSC-16, SLC or SLC-16 the new
stations will be included in all station lists in the database, except Keyset Map assign-
ments. Phones will be included in Keyset Map number 1.
If a DKSC-16 is changed to a DKSC, the device programming for circuits 1-8 will be
preserved, but circuits 9-16 will be unequipped. If a DKSC is changed to a DKSC-16,
circuits 1-8 will remain unchanged, and any previous programming for circuits 9-16
will be restored (they will be at default if they were never programmed).
An SLC-16 cannot be installed in a card slot that is programmed for an SLC. The ports
must be specifically programmed for an SLC-16. However, if port programming is
changed from SLC to SLC-16, the existing eight circuits will retain their individual pro-
gramming and the new circuits will be in the default state. If the port is changed from
an SLC-16 to an SLC, all circuits will retain their programming, but only the first eight
will be available.
When a card slot is modified to contain a Loop Start Card (with or without a Daughter
Card) or T1, E1/PRI, or T1/E1/PRI Card the new ports will be included in the "Unused
CO" trunk group.
LSC and LSC/D loop start devices are compatible. If the card type is changed to a com-
patible type, the loop start trunk programming will be preserved.
When a card slot is modified to Nothing Installed, or where the existing card type is
changed to another card type, all reference to the stations or trunks that were on the
card in that slot will be removed from all areas of the Database Manager (unless the
card was first moved to another slot).
The card slot that contains the keyset card with the primary attendant's station cannot
be changed to another type of card or deleted until the attendant's station is changed to
another location on another keyset card. If you attempt to do so, you will receive a
warning message.
If you change a CPU128 slot to a CPU020/PCM, you cannot change back.
The Embedded Voice Mail Card (EVMC) should be placed in slot 7 of the equipment
chassis. No further programming is required for the EVMC ports.
The PCMA Card contains a MAC Address field. This information is not programmable.
For details about the MAC Address, see the Call Processing Configuration Utility infor-
mation on
