MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
For CPU020-X/PCM-F cards only: Place the "EXPANSION CPU" sticker included
with the CPU020-X card on the EMI shield (attached to the front edge of the combined
card) as shown below.
Ensure all integrated circuits and components on the card are seated securely in their
sockets and no pins are bent. For PCMA cards, the ATM PAL must be present. If the
ATM PAL is not present, the CP Server generates a warning message (see
and does not bring that particular chassis online. The ATM CPU operating system,
therefore, only acknowledges ATM PALs and ignores any standard set PALs.
NOTE:
The v7.0 ATM PAL is not compatible with v6.0 software. Make sure the ATM
PAL in U13 is the correct part number (827.9683 for 7.0 and 827.9413 for 6.0). Version
8.0, however, supports any ATM PAL.
Place the battery back-up (BATTERY) jumper strap in the ON position (over the bot-
tom two pins) to enable database battery back-up. If the jumper strap is placed in the
OFF position (top two pins), the BATTERY OFF LED lights when the card is installed
and AC power is on.
NOTE:
The BATTERY OFF LED does not light if the jumper strap is missing. Make
sure all power supply AC POWER switches are turned OFF. Installing the CPU020/
PCM or CPU020/PCMA card with the power on may damage the circuitry on the card.
Install the CPU020/PCM or CPU020/PCMA card with the components facing right in
the last (8th) card slot in the equipment chassis. (See
tiple-chassis illustration.)
NOTE:
Dual-chassis systems require only one CPU020/PCM or CPU020/PCMA card
to control the entire system. However, the CPU020/PCM or CPU020/PCMA card must
be installed in the 8th slot of the left-hand chassis (as viewed from the front).
For CPU020-X/PCM-F cards only: Connect the fiber-optic cable between the PCM-F
card in the first (master) chassis and the PCM-F card in the third (slave) chassis.
