4.73 The CPC supports Call Processing versions 8.0 and later only. In addition, if the CPC is
installed on a networked system (i.e., one with multiple nodes), each node on the system must
be running version 5.2F9 or later. The CPC also supports the U.S. and European system ver-
sions of software.

MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
Flash Memory: Stores a backup copy of the system database. The system automati-
cally backs up this database once a day or whenever scheduled in DB Programming.
The backup database is then restored if the same version of Call Processing software is
reloaded or if the system detects a corrupt database on power up. See
details.
NOTE:
The following four system resources are provided by the single Digital Signal
Processor (DSP) on the CPC. For additional and/or other system resources, one or
more Options Cards (with up to four DSPs each) may be installed in the equipment
chassis.
Conferencing Resources: Connect up to 12 parties in multiple conferences. There can
be up to three simultaneous four-party conferences or up to four simultaneous three-
party conferences on a PCM card (non-ATM). Conferencing is not amplified.
DTMF Receiver Circuits: Provides circuits (two for non-ATM cards; six for ATM
cards) that are used when single-line sets connected to MDPMs are dialing and when
features such as DISA and analog voice mail are used. These receivers convert DTMF
signals to the digital codes used by the system. They are in use only while the dialed
number is being processed, not for the duration of the call. If all DTMF receivers are
busy, the user may try again (DISA users are redirected to the primary attendant).
DTMF Transmitter Circuits: Provides four circuits for generating DTMF tones when-
ever needed by the system. For example, when an Axxess Basic Digital, Eclispe Basic
Digital, Standard Display, Associate Display, Model 8500, Model 8520, or Model 8560
Phone user manually dials a number while on a call or when a station user uses one of
the system auto-dial features (ARS, call forward to the public network, station or sys-
tem speed dialing, etc.). Executive Display and Professional Display Phones can gener-
ate their own DTMF tones.
NOTE:
The Eclipse Basic Digital and Associate Display Phones are supported by U.S.
software only.
Tone Generating Circuit: Produces all of the system tones (busy, reorder, do-not-dis-
turb, etc.) heard by phone, single-line set, DISA, and automated attendant users.
Caller ID [CLIP] Receivers: Provides four resources for receiving Caller ID [CLIP].
These resources are in addition to those available on the OPC (see
page 6-69
page
2-67).
