13. HARDWARE SUMMARY
13.1 The SPECIFICATIONS section of this manual explains environmental requirements of
the system, describes the hardware, and gives pre-installation information. The hardware
descriptions include chassis, power supply unit, circuit cards, station instruments, and addi-
tional equipment needed for the optional features.
14. INSTALLATION, PROGRAMMING, AND MAINTENANCE SUMMARY
14.1 The modular design and self-diagnostic capabilities of the system facilitate installation
and repair with minimal down-time. Strict quality control standards for manufacturing and
thorough field testing provide the system with the reliability demanded by today's high-tech-
nology market.
14.2 The INSTALLATION section contains instructions for assembling the main distribution
frame (MDF) and for installing the chassis, power supply, circuit cards, station instruments,
and other optional hardware.
14.3 The PROGRAMMING section describes the procedures for programming the system
features. After the system is installed, the flexible software allows the database to be custom-
ized to meet the customer's needs. An external, customer-provided, personal computer (PC) is
used to perform this task. The chapter also provides instructions for backing up the system and
voice processing databases, uploading software licenses, and programming the IP endpoints.
14.4 The TROUBLESHOOTING section gives instructions for correcting system problems
and replacing defective parts. Part numbers are listed in the REPLACEMENT PARTS section.
14.5 The APPENDICES of this manual provide information about special topics such as
Networking, RS232 connections, CP Servers, CPC64/CPU64 configuration, upgrade instruc-
tions, and network topology.
