2. SYSTEM-WIDE PARAMETERS

2.1
This section describes system-wide parameters.
A. BACKUP DATABASE PARAMETERS
2.2
As of version 8.0, a backup copy of the database is automatically stored on the CP
Server's hard drive or in flash memory in the CPC. This backup remains available, even if the
system experiences a power failure or if the battery backup loses power. If the system is pow-
ered up and a corrupt database file is detected, the backup file in flash memory or on the hard
drive is restored. You can program an automatic backup as described below.
2.3
Periodic Backup Database Save Time: Select the time of day when a scheduled data-
base backup will occur. This must be at least 15 minutes after the Scheduled Reset Time; oth-
erwise, the backup may not occur. If you enter a time that is less than 15 minutes after the
Scheduled Reset Time, a message appears, requesting a new value. By default, this is 2:00AM.
To program the time, select the current hours, minutes, or AM/PM value and then scroll to or
enter new setting in the text box. Press
2.4
Periodic Backup Database Save Retry Attempts: Select the number of times that DB
Programming will attempt to save the database. If the database is not saved before the system
retries the number of times specified in this field, the database is not saved until the next day.
The range is 0-10, and the default is 3.
2.5
Enable Periodic Backup Database Save: Enable this flag to save the database at the
time indicated in Periodic Backup Database Save Time. This flag must be enabled to backup
the database at the scheduled time. By default, this is enabled. To enable this flag, select the
current Value and then select the check box to place a check in it. Then press
another field to save the change. (To remove the check and disable the flag, select the check
box again.)
NOTE:
save is not performed.
B. VOICE PROCESSOR ENABLE
2.6
The Voice Processor Enable database field is auto-enabled by Call Processing. For
example, if the Voice Processor Enable flag is set to "No" (disabled) and the user successfully
connects up a Voice Processor unit, Call Processing will auto-enable the flag. However, if DB
Programming is currently programming the switch, the auto-enable flag will not get auto-
enabled.
2.7
To disable this flag, select
change.
NOTE:
to the System, make sure you disable this flag before you attempt to import or export informa-
tion over the network. Also if DB Programming is currently programming the switch, the Voice
Processor Enable flag will not be automatically enabled.
