phone:

MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
The use of a password is highly recommended for all Model 8602 configurations to pre-
vent unauthorized users from accessing the system using a valid Model 8602 device ID.
The Model 8602 only supports American and British English. Other languages are cur-
rently not supported.
The Model 8602 must not be configured in peer-to-peer network groups because of its
mobility. If the Model 8602 connects to the system outside of the normal network, then
peer-to-peer calls will fail.
The use of RFC-2833 DTMF is recommended. The Model 8602's in-band DTMF usage
(that is, G.711 and G.729 DTMF encodings) always follows the endpoint's speech
encoding. Therefore, if the Model 8602 is configured to use G.729 speech encoding,
then G.729 DTMF will be used if the Model 8602's DTMF encoding setting is either
G.711 or G.729. The use of G.729 DTMF encodings will negatively impact the transmis-
sion of DTMF tones from the Model 8602 and will cause issues when trying to use
Interactive Voice Response (IVR) type systems. The DTMF Encoding Setting and
Speech Encoding Setting fields are located under System\IP-Related Information\Call
Configuration.
The Model 8602 only supports three G.-711 or six G-729 frames per packet. The Model
8602 will default to these values if the frames per packet setting is set any higher. The
Audio Frame/IP Packet setting can be programmed in System\IP-Related Informa-
tion\Call Configuration.
