3.30 Modem (CPC only): Each CPC has a built-in modem. To access programming options
for the modem, either double-click the modem extension or open System\Devices and Feature
Codes\Modems. See
3.31 IP Port (CPC only): The CPC also has a 10/100-Base T Ethernet port that allows you
to upload Call Processing software, upload software licenses, and access DB Programming. In
addition, the port can be used to establish the following connections:
Voice mail
System OAI (Level 2)
Desktop OAI
Diagnostics Monitor (for Message Print, SMDR, or Monitor)
NOTE:
3.32 Before you program the IP port, Inter-Tel recommends that you consult the on-site net-
work administrator for information on any standard practices that are followed, including the
use of special characters in hostnames. Providing a static IP address and a hostname is gener-
ally considered the "best" practice. To program the port, either double-click the port extension
or open System\Devices and Feature Codes\IP Ports. See

NOTE:
present on the system during a remote programming session. There are no restrictions to DSP
programming in local mode. After equipping a new Options card during a remote session, you
must exit from DB Programming to apply your changes and allow the system to check for the
presence of DSPs. Then, when you re-enter DB Programming, you will be allowed to program
the DSPs for the new Options card.
3.33 An Options Card provides onboard Digital Signal Processors (DSPs). Each of the DSPs
installed on the OPC (up to four) may be configured as one of several available resources.
(Caller information features require OPC programming to ensure that resources are available to
support the features. Caller ID [CLIP] uses Caller ID [CLIP] receivers and DID/ANI uses
DTMF receivers.) The Options Card can also be specified as having a Voice Processor (OPC to
AIC) connection to support additional ports.
3.34 Serial Port: To change the serial port, select its description. Then use the drop-down
list box to scroll to the desired setting (Serial Port or None). Press
field to save your change. If you create a Serial Port, its number is assigned automatically. If
you want to see the programming for this port (as performed in Devices and Feature Code pro-
gramming, described on
3.35 DSPs: The DSPs on the card and their current configurations are shown in the list. To
program a DSP, click on its current Value and then scroll to the desired option. (See SPECIFI-
CATIONS and INSTALLATION for information regarding the equipment supported by these
options.) The options are as follows:
None: If the DSP will not be used or is not equipped, select this option.
8 Caller ID [CLIP] Receivers: To enable eight receivers for Caller ID [CLIP] informa-
tion, select this option.
6 Caller ID [CLIP] Transmitters: (U.S. only) To enable six transmitters for Caller ID
[CLIP] to single-line phones, select this option.
