13.24 After the PCDPM hardware is installed, the telephone system database must be prop-
erly programmed for the PCDPM's intended purpose. Make sure the following areas in DB
Programming are configured properly for the desired PCDPM application.

It is not necessary to install a cable phantom extension plug or attach an
MDPM to the PCDPM when creating a phantom extension.
Premium Feature Configuration: If using the PCDPM as an RS232 port for a CTI
application that uses the Desktop OAI interface, make sure the Desktop Interface pre-
mium feature is enabled.
Individual Station Configuration:
If attaching a DSS/BLF Unit to the PCDPM or if using the PCDPM as an RS232
port for a CTI application that uses the desktop OAI interface, select either the
DSS or Desktop Interface for the Attached Devices field in the Miscellaneous Port
Information window.
NOTE:
The Attached Device Bit Rate field is automatically set to 2400 bps for the
DSS selection and cannot be changed. The Bit Rate field is adjustable for the
Desktop Interface selection, and, unless a slower speed is required, 4800 bps is
recommended for the fastest performance.
If you want to allow the station with the attached PCDPM to have the ability to
receive Off-Hook Voice Announce (OHVA) calls, enable the OHVA Receive option
in the Miscellaneous Flags window. (The system flag for OHVA must also be
enabled.)
If attaching an MDPM to the PCDPM, be sure to configure the MDPM as a sin-
gle-line port.
