K. OPTIONS CARDS (OPCS)
4.221 Each Options Card (OPC) is equipped with the two ROMs, from kit part numbers
828.1561 [DI241 in Europe], that allow the card to work with version 2 or later system soft-
ware. The part numbers of the two ROMs in the kit are 827.9949 (U3) and 841.0202 (U29).
4.222 Each OPC contains the following system resources (see
DSPs: (one standard, up to three more optional) Allocates Caller ID [CLIP] receivers
(up to eight per DSP), Caller ID [CLIP] transmitters (up to six per DSP), shared speak-
erphones for Axxess Basic Digital, Eclipse Basic Digital, Associate Display, Model
8500, Model 8520, Model 8560, and Standard Display Phones (up to eight per DSP),
additional conferencing circuits (up to 16 more per DSP), and additional DTMF receiv-
ers (up to six more per DSP).
NOTE:
on shared speakerphones for Axxess Basic Digital, Eclipse Basic Digital, Associate Dis-
play, Model 8500, Model 8520, Model 8560, and Standard Display Phones, see
125.
With European systems, previously, only the DSP on the DKSC-16+ provided the
Caller ID [CLIP] transmitters required for CLIP for single-line sets. As of version 8.224
(U.K. v8.225), each DSP on the OPC provides an additional six Caller ID [CLIP] trans-
mitters. If necessary, you can upgrade the firmware on an existing OPC with the A-Law
OPC Upgrade Kit (part no. 828.1671). See the A-Law Options Card Firmware Replace-
ment Instructions for details.
NOTE:
v8.1.
LED Indicators: Indicates the card's functional readiness (CARD ON-LINE - green)
and whether or not any resource on the card is busy (CIRCUIT BUSY - yellow). See
TROUBLESHOOTING for detailed LED information.
DB15 PCM Connector: (15-pin D-subminiature female connector) Connects an addi-
tional 4-32 ports (port numbers 9-40) to the Audio Interface Card (AIC) in the optional
Voice Processing PC.
NOTE:
from the first (master) chassis, be sure to install the OPC in the master dual-chassis if it
is used to provide additional Voice Processing channels.
RS232 Jack: (8-pin, 8-conductor modular jack or line jack unit) Connects an SMDR/
error message output device, a PC for programming the system database, or a modem
for remote programming/maintenance (see
this port to connect to the Voice Processing PC.
