If the license is invalid, an error message appears, indicating why the upload failed. A
Software License Upload Error Messages
Error Message
The software license is cor-
rupted.
The serial number on the CPC
does not match the number in
the license.
The software license is no
longer valid or has expired.
The current database is pro-
grammed for more devices
than the software license
allows.
The license you have
attempted to load is for a differ-
ent version of system software.
A valid software license is
already loaded on the system.
The CPU type identified in the
software license does not
match the CPU type detected
in the system.
The software license serial
number does not match the
serial number on CP Server
security key, or the security key
is not present on the CP
Server.
The software license product
version does not match the
version installed on the system.
Possible Cause
Download the file from the
edGe Web site again. If this
error occurs again, contact the
Inter-Tel Software Mainte-
nance Center. For readers
located in Europe, download
the software from the Inter-Tel
Europe FTP server.
Either install the CPC identified
on the software license or load
a license that has the correct
serial number.
Load (or request) a new Soft-
ware License.
Either use local mode to
unequip some devices or
upgrade the capacity limit on
the license.
Either install the correct version
of system software or upload a
software license that specifies
the correct system version.
If the software license you are
attempting to load is the correct
license, start a new DB Pro-
gramming session with a
default database. Then upload
the software license before
restoring the database.
Either install the correct CPC or
upload a license that identifies
the installed CPU type.
Make sure the CP Server secu-
rity key is present and properly
seated on the parallel port. If
the key is present, make sure
the license reflects the correct
serial number. If necessary,
transfer the license to the cor-
rect serial number (see
103).
Either install the correct system
version or upgrade the license
to reflect the correct system
version.
