AvdapMon Utility
14.24 Because the Voice Processing software is running as a service, it does not have a con-
sole for displaying output. Inter-Tel provides a stand alone program called "AvdapMon" that
can be used for viewing the Voice Processing software messages. The setup program automati-
cally creates a shortcut to Avdapmon in the Voice Processing programming group in the Pro-
grams folder.
14.25 Avdapmon uses a TCP/IP socket to connect to the Voice Processing software. It can be
run from the Voice Processing PC itself or any other PC running Windows NT, Windows 2000,
or Windows 95, as long as there is a TCP/IP network connection from the PC running the
AvdapMon utility to the Voice Processing PC. Note that the software supports only one active
AvdapMon connection.
14.26 This program has the following parameters:
14.27 For the Windows NT-based VPU running Avdap version 8.1 and earlier: If the IP
address was assigned statically, you do not need to modify the shortcut and follow the instruc-
tions above; If the IP address was assigned dynamically, you must specify an IP address in the
shortcut. For the Windows NT-based VPU running Avdap version 8.2 and later, you must
specify an IP address (static or dynamic) in the shortcut (see
the Windows 2000-based VPUs, you can specify 127.0.0.1 as the IP address in the shortcut or
the specific IP address (see

AVDAPMON <IP number> <socket number>
The <IP number> is the IP number of the Voice Processing PC in "dotted notation"
(e.g., 190.253.11.210).
NOTE:
The Voice Processing Unit requires a static IP address. If it obtains its IP
address from the server, the AvdapMon utility does not load properly.
The <socket number> is the socket number of the Avdap service. If not configured dif-
ferently, the default socket number is 4444.
