To merge local node devices, the master database is first searched for off-node devices
of the same type and extension. All matching off-node devices are then deleted from the
master database before the information from the merged database is added.
If a matching off-node device is not found in the master database, a new entry is added
to the master devices table. Unless a conflict is detected, the existing extension is used
in the master table. If a conflict is detected, new extensions are generated until the con-
flict is resolved. (For trunks, however, the "P#" conflict extension is immediately gener-
ated.)
Because a local page zone can contain an off-node page zone as a device, page zones
require a special clean up operation. In some cases, off-node page zones become local
page zones. Because local page zones are invalid device entries, when the merge is
complete, each device in a page zone is validated for existence and removed if it cannot
be found. Then, any unused page zones (page zones with empty device lists) are
deleted.
Finally, all trunk group music-on-hold board IDs are updated to indicate the new board
location. If the music-on-hold board ID was an Options card that could not be merged,
the new ID for that card becomes the CPC or CPU card in slot 8.
Off-Node Devices: The list of off-node devices that are merged includes the following:

To merge off-node devices, the master database is first searched for local and off-node
devices of the same type and extension. All matching devices (off-node and local) are
then deleted from the master database before the information from the merged database
is added.
If a matching device is not found in the master database, a new entry is added to the
master devices table. Unless a conflict is detected, the existing extension is used in the
master table. If a conflict is detected, a "P#" conflict extension is generated and
assigned to the off-node device.
