10.47 In system versions 5.1 and later software, the T1/PRI information is included in the
CPU software. This allows the T1/E1/PRI card software to be uploaded automatically, through
the backplane, when the cards are installed. This automatic upload occurs when a T1/E1/PRI
card is first plugged in, whether it is a new installation or the card is being added to an existing
installation. Here is what happens:
•
The CPC or CPU checks the card and determines whether it needs to be updated. If it
does, the yellow and red LEDs on the T1/E1/PRI card flash alternately and the upload
begins.
•
While the information is being uploaded, both the yellow and red LEDs flash at once.
•
The card then resets and the green LED lights to indicate that the T1/E1/PRI card is
ready for use.
10.48 Some other special considerations concerning the internal update include the following:
•
In a new installation, the equipment chassis slot does not have to be pre-programmed as
a T1/E1/PRI card. The slot assignment is automatically updated after the CPC or CPU
uploads the software.
•
If you ever need to downgrade the software version, you must do it manually, using the
instructions on
onto the T1/E1/PRI card.
•
If you change to a newer version of CPC or CPU software (that contains newer T1/E1/
PRI software), the system performs the automatic upload to bring the T1/E1/PRI card(s)
up to the latest version.
10.49 If an automatic upload fails, it could be that the T1/E1/PRI card's boot sector is cor-
rupted. Contact Inter-Tel Customer Support for replacement.

T1/E1/PRI card or if you are installing the T1/E1/PRI in a phone system with any other ver-
sion, you must upload different software to the card. See
