MANUAL VERSION 11.0 – May 2008
Plug one end of a four-pair, non-reversing (straight through), mod-to-mod line cord into
each network provider RJ45 jack. The other end of each line cord is later plugged into
the E1 jack on the corresponding E1/PRI or T1/E1/PRI Card.
NOTE:
Make sure the connectors on the ends of each line cord are properly attached.
If any of the wires are cracked or broken, E1/PRI transmission problems can occur.
Figure 3-13
on the next page for a diagram of the complete layout.
Mount one eight-conductor line jack unit assembly next to each network provider RJ45
jack.
For each line jack unit mounted in step 1, mount a corresponding eight-conductor line
jack unit assembly on the MDF backboard.
To connect the line jack unit assemblies mounted in steps 1 and 2:
Run E1 cable between the corresponding line jack unit assemblies.
a.
NOTE:
If the network provider termination is more than 2000 feet (600 meters)
from the MDF, special E1 cable must be used (see
tions). For shorter distances, two lengths of standard two-pair voice-frequency
cable (one cable for transmit and one cable for receive) may be used instead.
Wire each end of the cables onto their respective line jack unit assemblies. See
b.
Figure 3-14
on the next page for a diagram of the wiring.
At the network provider termination, plug one end of a four-pair, non-reversing
(straight through), mod-to-mod line cord into each RJ45 jack, and plug the other end
into the corresponding line jack unit assembly next to it.
At the MDF backboard, plug one end of a four-pair, non-reversing (straight through),
mod-to-mod line cord into each line jack unit assembly. The other end of each line cord
is later plugged into the E1 jack on the corresponding E1/PRI or T1/E1/PRI Card.
NOTE:
Make sure the connectors on the ends of each line cord are properly attached.
