[ no ] interface gigabitEthernet interfaceSpecifier
Command introduced before JunosE Release 7.1.0.
Specifies or creates a Gigabit Ethernet interface or a subinterface over a Gigabit Ethernet
interface. The no version removes the interface or subinterface.
NOTE: On the GE I/O module, you can configure only the primary port, 0. The router
automatically uses the redundant port, 0R, if the primary port fails.
On the GE-2 APS I/O module, you can configure only the primary ports, 0 and 1. The
router automatically uses the corresponding redundant port, 0R or 1R, if the primary
port fails.
On the OC3-2 GE APS I/O module, you can configure only a Gigabit Ethernet interface
in port 2. Ports 0 and 1 are reserved for OC3/STM1 ATM interfaces.
On the ES-2 GE-4 IOA, you can configure all four ports.
