INSPECTION OF INPUT SHAFT
INSPECT SYNCHRONIZER RING
(a) Turn the ring and push it in to check the breaking ac–
tion.
(b) Using a feeler gauge, measure the clearance be–
Standard clearance: 0.8 – 1.6 mm
Minimum clearance: 0.6 mm (0.024 in.)
If the clearance is less than the minimum, replace the
synchronizer ring.
REPLACEMENT OF BEARING
IF NECESSARY, REPLACE INPUT SHAFT BEARING
(a) Using snap ring pliers, remove the snap ring.
Component Parts (Input Shaft Assembly)
tween the synchronizer ring back and the gear spline
end.
(0.031 – 0.063 in.)
