REMOVAL OF UPPER SUSPENSION ARM
1. REMOVE TORSION BAR SPRING
(See page SA–114)
2. DISCONNECT UPPER SUSPENSION ARM FROM UPPER
BALL JOINT
Remove the cotter pin and nut, and using SST disconnect
the upper ball joint from the steering knuckle.

3. DISCONNECT SHOCK ABSORBER FROM FRAME
Remove the nut, cushion and retainer, and disconnect
the shock absorber from the frame.
HINT: Do not disconnect the shock absorber from the
lower suspension arm.
4. REMOVE UPPER SUSPENSION ARM
(a) Disconnect the intermediate shaft from the steering
gear housing.
(b) Remove the three bolts, and remove the upper sus–
pension arm from the frame.
