This section explains the commands that are related to the Extreme Cache function. The Extreme Cache

The Extreme Cache function is not available:
•
for the ETERNUS DX100 S3/DX200 S3

for the ETERNUS DX200F
•
for an ETERNUS DX without an installed PFM
The functions to control Extreme Cache are as follows:
•
Enabling or disabling the Extreme Cache function for the ETERNUS DX and controlling the PFM memory
capacity that is used as cache (the "set extreme-cache" command)
•
Referencing the setting information of the Extreme Cache function (the "show extreme-cache" command)
•
Enabling or disabling the Extreme Cache function for a volume when it is created (the "create volume [-
exc]" command)
•
Enabling or disabling the Extreme Cache function for each of the existing volumes (the "set volume-exc"
command)
•
Referencing whether the Extreme Cache function is enabled for each volume (the "show volumes -mode
detail" command)
The Extreme Cache function for Flexible Tier Volumes (FTVs) is controlled by a software application.
