! CAUTION
After cleaning the cylinder liners, prevent rusts. Use a bearing
scraper or other similar tools to scrape off rusts if any.

INSPECTING THE CYLINDER LINER FOR CRACK AND DAM-
AGE
Use the dye penetrant testing (red check) to inspect the cylinder
liner for crack and damage. If found defective, replace the cylinder
liner.
MOUNTING THE CYLINDER LINER
Apply engine oil to the inner surface of the cylinder block bore.
Align the alignment mark indicated on the cylinder liner and the
one indicated on the cylinder block and use the SST to insert the
cylinder liner in the vertical posture.

Guide
When mounting new cylinder liners, select appropriate cylin-
der liners that have the same identification mark (A, B or C)
as the liner identification mark engraved on the cylinder
block in the order of cylinders.
The figure shows that the No.1 cylinder has liner B.
