6. REMOVING THE EGR VALVE
(1) Disconnect the connector from the EGR valve.
(2) Remove the EGR valve and gasket from the intake manifold.
! CAUTION
INTAKE
•
Do not step on the EGR valve during engine service work.
MANIFOLD
•
Do not remove or loosen the bolts, nuts, and snap rings that
are components of the EGR valve.
If any of these components is removed or loosened, the EGR
valve will deteriorate in performance.
If the bolts, nuts, and snap rings are removed and the EGR
valve is disassembled, do not reassemble the EGR valve.
Replace it with a new one.

Do not hold the link when replacing the EGR valve assembly.
If the link is held, it may bend and cause a malfunction.
