5. INSPECTING THE END PLAY
(1) Use the dial gauge to measure end play of the crankshaft. If a
measurement reading exceeds the repair limit, replace the thrust
bearings. If a measurement reading exceeds the permissible limit,
replace the thrust bearings and crankshaft.
Standard value

NOTICE
Thrust bearing standard width: 2.5 mm {0.0984 in.}
6. REMOVING THE CRANKSHAFT
(1) Loosen the main bearing cap bolt gradually in the sequential
order shown in the figure (rotate to a 1/4 turn at a time) and
remove it.
