QoS Commands
Usage Guidelines
The default WRED profile (WRP 1) is automatically assigned to all VOQ queue set (QSet) profiles and
to individual queue profiles within the QSet. As a result, it is only necessary to configure new WRED
profiles if the existing default profile settings are not sufficient.
Use the no form of this command to remove WRED profile 2, 3, or 4 from the switch configuration.
Note that the default WRP 1 cannot be deleted, however, WRP 1 parameters can be changed.
Each time a WRED profile is created, the new profile inherits the default WRP 1 parameter settings if
specific parameter values are not specified at the time the profile is created.
Once a profile is created, the next step is to assign that profile to a QSet.
To modify parameters for an existing profile, specify the ID number or name of the profile then the
specific parameter values to change.
Specify either the ID number or alphanumeric name when creating a WRED profile, not both at the
same time. If a WRP name is specified instead of a WRP ID, the ID assigned to the WRED profile is
the next available profile number. For example, if WRP 1 and 2 exist, the next profile created without
specifying an ID number is assigned WRP ID 3.
Setting the minimum, maximum, and probability thresholds to the same percentage value creates a
color blind WRED profile.
