This chapter describes how to use the CoreBuilder
switch Local Management Application (LMA) to configure and
administrate the switch. Appendix D, has a menu index, which provides a
reference to the command description for each menu command.

Starting Up
The LMA Menu System
In order to use the LMA to configure your CoreBuilder 7000 family ATM
switch, you must run the LMA from a terminal via a direct RS-232
connection or via Telnet. To augment network management, you can use
an external application, such as 3Com's Transcend
ATMvLAN Manager.
LMA functions include:
Configuring the platform
Managing network interfaces
Configuring ILMI
Configuring virtual channels
Viewing statistics
Managing LAN Emulation
Configuring the LAN emulation configuration service (LECS)
Configuring LAN emulation servers and clients
Configuring LEC ELAN admission security
Configuring and managing PNNI
PNNI is available in version 4.5 extended only.
