Introduction: Read the information
contained in this section. Understanding the
information will assist you in operating the
device in a safe manner.
Important Safety Notice: This device is
intended to be used by individuals with
adequate training and experience in
diagnostic imaging studies.
Indications for use: The contents of this
package are intended to be used in the
delivery of contrast media. These devices are
indicated for single-use only with Injectors
from Bayer.
Contraindications: These devices are not
intended for multiple-use, drug infusion,
chemotherapy, or any other use for which the
device is not indicated.
Restricted Sale: Federal (USA) law restricts
these devices for sale by or on the order of a
physician.
Report any serious incident that has
occurred in relation to this device to Bayer
(radiology.bayer.com/contact) and to your
local European competent authority (or,
where applicable, to the appropriate
regulatory authority of the country in which
the incident has occurred).
Warnings
Air embolization can cause death or
serious injury to the patient. Do not
connect a patient to the injector until all
trapped air has been cleared from the
syringe and fluid path. Carefully read the
instructions for loading and the use of
®
MEDRAD
Fluidots indicators (where
applicable) to reduce the chance of air
embolism.
Biological contamination can result from
reusing disposable items or failure to
follow aseptic technique. Properly discard
disposable items after use.
Syringe sterility will be compromised,
and patient infection may result, if the
plunger is removed from the syringe. Do
not remove the plunger to fill the syringe.
Bacterial contamination can occur if
syringes are used to store contrast
media. Use loaded syringes immediately.
Do not store loaded syringes for later use.
Discard unused loaded syringes.
For devices labeled for single use, please
note: This product is intended for single
use only. Do not resterilize, reprocess or
reuse. The disposable devices have been
designed and validated for single use
only. Re-use of the single use disposable
devices pose risks of device failure and
risks to the patient. Potential device failure
includes significant component
deterioration with extended use,
component malfunction, and system failure.
Potential risks to the patient include injury
due to device malfunction or infection as the
device has not been validated to be cleaned
or re-sterilized.
Do not use if sterile package is opened or
damaged. Patient or operator injury may
result if package is opened or damaged, or
if damaged components are used. Visually
inspect contents and package before each
use.
Patient injury could result if syringe is not
properly engaged. Do not load or inject
unless the syringe is properly engaged.
Ensure the alignment marks on the syringe
and injector head are properly aligned and
the piston and plunger are interlocked.
Improper engagement may cause air
embolization or under-volume delivery
Patient or Operator injury may result
from contrast media leaks or tubing
ruptures. Ensure that the fluid path is open;
do not exceed pressures identified on the
front of the package. Use of greater
pressures or occlusions in the fluid path
may result in leaks or ruptures to the
connector tube.
Cautions
Component damage or leaks may occur
if not installed properly. Ensure all
connections are secure; do not overtighten.
This will help minimize leaks, disconnection,
and component damage.
Cautions
Refer to the Injector Operation Manual
for further instructions.
Syringe Installation:
1. Ensure that the piston(s) on the injector
head are fully retracted.
2. Remove the new syringe(s) from the
package and insert into the injector head
Syringe Interface ensuring that the Keyed
Wings at the syringe base and openings in
the Syringe Interface are aligned.
Note that the syringe is keyed to properly fit
one way.
3. Twist the syringe 1/4 turn clockwise until
the syringe clicks, locks, and the alignment
marks on the syringe and injector head are
aligned.
Syringe Filling:
NOTE: One person should fill and arm the
injector. If you must change the injector
operator, be certain that the second operator
verifies that the syringe is properly filled and
that any air is eliminated.
1. Tilt the injector head (or the syringe
interface module) up.
2. Advance the plunger to full forward
position.
3. Remove the protective covers from the
syringe luer tip and attach a sterile filling
device onto the tip of the syringe (Quick Fill
Tube or spike, if provided). Install the spike
or QFT onto the end of the syringe, 1/4 turn
to 1/2 turn maximum. Do not install with
excessive force.
4. Transfer the contrast media into the
syringe by one of following methods:
a. Quick Fill Tube - raise the contrast
bottle until the Quick Fill Tube is fully
inserted. The end of the Quick Fill
Tube should be near the bottom of the
contrast bottle.
b. Filling Device (spike) - prepare the
bottle or bag of contrast and/or
flushing solution. Push the bottle or
bag onto the Filling Device until the
seal is punctured.
NOTE: Use a Quick Fill Tube or equivalent
device to reduce the volume and size of air
bubbles drawn into the syringe during
filling. It is more difficult to remove the air
bubbles if you use smaller diameter tubes,
such as a catheter-over-needle, or a tube
longer than 10 in. (25 cm.)
5. Aspirate contrast media into the syringe.
6. If the syringe has FluiDots indicators use
them to help you detect the presence of
contrast media in the syringe. Verify that
the Qwik-Fit Syringe disposable FluiDots
indicators are round in the filled portion of
the syringe. The rounded shape of the
FluiDots indicators varies according to the
type of contrast media, but an oblong
shape indicates the presence of air.
Rounded FluiDots indicators do not
indicate the total absence of air bubbles in
the syringe tip.
Expelling Air and Attaching the
Connector Tube:
After you fill the syringe, you must expel all
air from the syringe and then attach the
connector tubing. To do so:
1. Remove the filling device and expel air
from the syringe.
Do not hit the syringe to remove air
bubbles. Reverse the plunger 3 to 5 ml,
then, if applicable, rock the injector head
on the pivot to dislodge the bubbles. Expel
the remaining air.
2. Verify that the tubing is not kinked or
obstructed.
3. (If your injector does not have a manual
knob, proceed to Step 4.) Use the manual
knob to advance the syringe plunger to
provide a slow flow of contrast media
through the connector tubing.
An absence of flow is an obvious indication
of air in the fluid path.
4. Prime the connector tubing and make
certain that the air is expelled.
5. Verify that all the air has been expelled
from the syringe and fluid path.
6. Attach the connector tube to the vascular
entry device.
7. Tilt the injector head (or syringe interface
module) down.
Reinstalling a Syringe
If you remove a syringe from the injector and
then wish to reinstall it, perform the following
steps:
1. Insert the end of the syringe in the
horizontal cutouts in the injector head.
2. Advance the piston until it is past the
plunger feet and the piston and plunger
interlock.
3. Rotate the syringe 1/4 turn clockwise until
the syringe locks and alignment marks are
positioned.
4. Proceed as normal
by aspirating and
dislodging any air
bubbles.
Removing a Syringe
To remove the syringe
when the procedure
has been completed,
rotate the syringe 1/4
turn counterclockwise
and remove it from the
injector head. Discard
all used components.
NOTE: Do not use
unless the plunger feet
are properly engaged
with the piston.

本機器に関連して重大な事故が発生した場
合は、バイエル（radiology.bayer.com/
contact）および地域の欧州管轄当局（該当
する場合は事故が発生した国の適切な規制
当局）に報告してください。
気泡注入による血管塞栓は患者の傷害や死
亡につながることがあります。 シリンジと造
影剤の経路からエアーを完全に取り除くま

ディスポ製品を再使用したり無菌状態が損
なわれると、患者への感染の恐れがありま
す。使用後のディスポ製品は、適切な方法で
廃棄処分してください。
プランジャーをディスポシリンジからはず
すと、シリンジの無菌性が保持できず、患者
への感染の恐れがあります。 シリンジへの造
影剤充填の際は、 プランジャーを外さないで
下さい。
シリンジに造影剤を充填したままにしてお
くと、細菌感染の原因になることがありま
す。 充填されたシリンジは直ちに使用してく
ださい。また、シリンジに造影剤を充填した
まま保管しないでください。 造影剤がシリン
ジ内に残っていてもそのシリンジは必ず処
分してください。

単回使用と記載されている装置については、
次の点にご注意ください：本製品の使用は一
回限りです。再滅菌、再処理、再使用はしな
いでください。使い捨て装置は、一回限り使
用するものとして設計・検証されています。
使い捨て ( 単回使用 ) 装置を再使用すると、
装置の故障や、 患者に対する傷害の危険性が
生じます。装置の故障としては、長時間使用
による部品の顕著な劣化、部品の機能不全、
システム故障が挙げられます。 患者に対する
危険性としては、 装置の機能不全による傷害
のほか、 洗浄や再滅菌が検証されていない装
置を使用することによる感染症が挙げられ
ます。
滅菌パッケージが開封または破損している
場合は、使用しないでください。パッケージ
が開封済みであったり、破損している場合、
また製品が破損している場合は、 患者や操作
者に危害を及ぼすおそれがありますので、 使
用しないでください。 使用の際は常に内容物
と包装を目視点検してください。
シリンジが正しくかみ合っていることを確
認し、 患者の身体に危害が及ばないようにし
てください。 シリンジのかみ合わせが確認
できた後に、 充墳あるいは注入を行ってくだ
さい。 シリンジとインジェクターヘッドの印
が 正 し く 一 致 し、ま た ピ ス ト ン と プ ラ ン
ジャーがかみ合っていることを確かめてく
ださい。正しくかみ合っていない場合、気泡
塞栓または造影剤の注入不足となる恐れが
あります。
造影剤の漏れやチューブの破裂は、 患者やオ
ベレーターに危害を与える恐れがあります。
液路が開放していることを確認してくださ
い。 パッケージ前面に記載の圧力値を超えな
いでください。高圧をかけたり、流路に閉塞
があると、 造影剤の漏れやコネクタチューブ
破裂の原因となります。
それぞれのディスポ製品を正確に接続して
ください。 正確に接続されていないと製品が
破損することがあります。 造影剤の漏洩や製
品の破損を防ぐために、 正しく接続されてい
ることを確認してください。 この際にあまり
強く回しすぎないよう、 十分に注意してくだ
さい。
インジェクターの使用説明書もあわせてお
読み下さい。
シリンジの装着 :
1.インジェクターヘッドのピストンが、す
べて完全に後退しているか、確かめて下
さい。
2.新しいシリンジをパッケージから取り出
し、インジェクターヘッドに差し込みま
す。この時、シリンジ後部の凸部とシリ
ンジ差し込み口の凹部がきちんと合って
いることを確認します。
注意：シリンジはある一定の方向で正し
く合うようになっています。
3.シリンジをクリック音がして固定するま
で、時計方向に 1/4 回転押し回します。
シリンジのフランジにあるマークとイン
ジェクターヘッドにあるマークが正しく
一致していることを確認してください。
シリンジの充填 :
注意：インジェクターヘの造影剤充填並び
にアーミングは、その作業が終わるまで担
当者は交代しないでください。都合により
途中で担当者が交代する際は、交代した人
がシリンジの充填とエアー抜きが完全に行
われたかどうか、十分確認してください。
1.インジェクターヘッド ( またはシリンジ・
インタフェース・モジュール ) を上向き
にしてください。
2.プランジャーを前送りの位置に目一杯前
進させます。
3.シリンジルアーチップから保護キャップ
を外し、滅菌済みの充填装置 ( メドラッ
ド・クイックフィル・チューブまたはス
パイク ( 備品として含まれている場合 ) )
をシリンジの先端に取り付けてください。
シリンジ先端にスパイクまたは QFT を取
り付け、1/4 ～ 1/2 回転させ固定します。
それ以上は回さないでください。また、
過剰な力をかけないでください。
4.つぎのいずれかの方法で、造影剤をシリ
ンジに充填します：
a. クイックフィル・チューブ - 造影
剤の瓶を持ち上げて、充填用
チューブを造影剤の中に挿入して
ください。クイックフィルチュー
ブの端が必ず造影剤ボトルの底部
近くにあるように留意してくださ
い。
b. 充填用具 ( スパイク ) - 造影剤の
