Isolating Damaged Components Connected to the Booklet Maker PWB
1.
Switch off the machine GP 14. Reconnect PJ433 on the Booklet Maker PWB.
2.
Disconnect the following connectors:
PJ554 Booklet Maker PWB
PJ555 Booklet Maker PWB
PJ557 Booklet Maker PWB
PJ560 Booklet Maker PWB
3.
Switch on the machine GP 14 and wait until it is fully initialized:
If the message "Ensure output device is docked" is not displayed, continue at step 4.
If the message "Ensure output device is docked" is displayed, Install a new booklet
maker PWB, PL 11.86 Item 10, ensure the PJs, listed in step 2 are disconnected,
continue at step 4.

Description
The rear tamper motor will run and move the
rear tamper
The kicker solenoid will energize and the kick-
ers will extend from the compiler carriage
The tray hold solenoid will energize
The stapling unit traverse motor will run and
move the staple head forward / backward
Staple head unit 1 motor will run and cycle the
staple head
a.
Use a service meter to measure the resistance of the component and harness at the
specified PJ and pins. If the resistance is out of specification, check the harness and
and connectors for damage, short circuits or poor connections. If necessary repair
the wiring and connectors. If the resistance is out of specification and the wiring is
good, Install a new component.
NOTE: Where two or more components share the same connector to the PWB, per-
form the resistance check on all of the components before connecting the PJ to the
PWB.

Connect the component to the booklet maker PWB, Making sure the connection is
good. Enter the dC330 code for the component, then press start to energize the
component. Verify that the component is energized. Press stop.
c.
If the message "Ensure output device is docked" returns when the component is
energized, or if the component does not energize, install a new component.
Description
The paper path transport motor will run and
drive the booklet maker entry roll
The BM backstop motor will run and move the
backstop up / down
The BM tamper 1 motor will run and move the
tampers in / out
The crease roll gate motor will run and the gate
will raise
The BM stack hold solenoids are energized
The BM conveyor belts drive motor will run and
the conveyor belts will move
The BM staple head 1 motor will run and the
stapler will cycle
The BM staple head 2 motor will run and the
stapler will cycle
