11D-170 HCSS BM to Machine Communications Interface
RAP
A communication fault exists between the HCSS BM and the machine.
Procedure
Go to the 03-360, 03-408 to 03-410, 03-418 IOT to Output Device Error RAP.

11E-170 HCSS BM Bin 2 Failure RAP
Bin 2 fails to remove the finished booklets from the exit area of the booklet maker.
Initial Actions
Check for a jam or any other obstruction that could prevent the conveyor belt mechanism from
moving.
Procedure
Enter dC330 code 11-389. Actuate the BM bin 2 90% full sensor, Q11-389, Figure 1. The dis-
play changes.

Go to Flag 1. Check Q11-389.

Install new components as necessary:
• BM PWB, PL 11.86 Item 10.
• BM bin 2 90% full sensor PL 11.90 Item 5.
NOTE: The BM conveyor belts drive motor stops after 10 seconds.
Enter dC330, code 11-402 to run the BM conveyor belts drive motor, MOT11-402. MOT11-402
runs.

Remove the inline fuse PWB, Figure 2. Check for continuity on the inline fuse PWB
between J591 pin 1 and J590 pins 3 and 4. Check also between J591 pin 2 and J590 pins
1 and 2. The inline fuse PWB is good.

Go to Flag 2. Check the resistance between P590 pins 1 and 3. Check also between
P590 pins 2 and 4. The resistance is approximately 5.5 ohms.

Go to Flag 3. Disconnect PJ576. Check the resistance between P576 pins 1
and 3. Check also between P576 pins 2 and 4. The resistance is approxi-
mately 5.5 ohms.

Install a new BM conveyor belts drive motor, PL 11.90 Item 4, then a inline
fuse PWB, PL 11.92 Item 8.
Check for damaged wiring or bad connectors between the inline fuse PWB and
the BM conveyor belts drive motor. Repair the wiring, REP 1.2 or install new
components as necessary. Install a new inline fuse PWB, PL 11.92 Item 8.
Install a new inline fuse PWB, PL 11.92 Item 8.
Go to Flag 3. Check MOT 11-402.
