OF2 UI Touch Screen Failure RAP
To solve UI touch screen problems when the machine has power but either the display is miss-
ing, is too dark or the UI screen responds incorrectly or does not refresh.
Initial Actions
•
Go to the Customer Tools application and adjust the backlight output level.
•
Refer to REP 2.1 to access the user interface assembly.
•
Figure 1. Check and re-seat P/J3, P/J6, P/J81 and P/J130 on the user interface PWB.
•
Enter dC305 UI test. Perform the relevant tests to check the operation of the UI.
•
If the problem occurs while entering or exiting sleep mode, go to 01K Sleep Mode RAP.
Procedure
Go to Flag 1. +3.3V is available at P/J130 between pin 1 and 2.

Check the harness and wiring, GP 7. Check between P/J130 on the UI PWB and P/J133
on the power distribution PWB. The wiring is good.

Repair the wiring. REP 1.2.
Refer to:

Go to Flag 2. +12V is available at P/J130 between pin 3 and 4.

Check the harness and wiring, GP 7. Check between P/J130 on the UI PWB and P/J133
on the power distribution PWB. The wiring is good.

Repair the wiring. REP 1.2.

Go to Flag 3. Check the harness and wiring, GP 7. Check between PJ104 and PJ130. Refer to
the information that follows:

•
P/J130, User Interface PWB.
The wiring is good.

Go to Flag 4. Check the harness and wiring, GP 7. Check between PJ103 and PJ81. Refer to
the information that follows:
•
(32-55 ppm) P/J103 or (65-87 ppm) P/J103, Image Processing PWB.
•
P/J81, User Interface PWB.

Before installing a new User Interface Assembly, determine the current software level (GP 4).
The software on the new User Interface Assembly may not be compatible. Upgrade or down-
grade the software set to suit the customer machine requirements using the Customer Admin-
istration Tool (CAT).
Install new components as necessary:
•
User interface PWB, (32-55 ppm) PL 2.15 Item 7 or (65-87 ppm) PL 2.10 Item 6.
•
User interface touch screen, (32-55 ppm) PL 2.15 Item 6 or (65-87 ppm) PL 2.10 Item 5.
If the problem continues, install a new image processor PWB, (32-55 ppm) PL 3.20 Item 3, (65-
87 ppm) PL 3.10 Item 3.
