Noise from the right hand side of the machine.
Possible causes are:

The HCSS BM is not aligned correctly.
Solution:
–
Check the machine to HCSS BM alignment, ADJ 11.1-170.
–
Adjust the components if appropriate.
–
Install new parts as necessary.
•
Knocking.
Possible causes are:
–
Mis-adjusted or worn drive belts.
Solution:
–
Adjust the belt tension as required.
–
Install new parts as necessary.
•
Squeak.
Possible causes are:
–
The upper transport drive shaft on the vertical paper transport, PL 11.70.
–
The compiler carriage entry shaft, PL 11.74 Item 16.
–
When bin 1 tray is offsetting, PL 11.78 Item 9.
Solution:
–
Remove and clean the drive shafts, bearings and then lubricate. Refer to ADJ 4.1
Machine Lubrication.
–
Refer to ADJ 4.1 Machine Lubrication. Go to the procedure Bin 1 Tray (HCSS BM)
and lubricate the components in the procedure.
–
Install new parts as necessary.
•
Clicking Noise from the HCSS BM.
Possible causes are:
–
The noise is caused by the transport motor 2, dC330 code 11-001, continually oper-
ating for approximately 15 seconds. This occurs every time the top cover assembly,
PL 11.60 Item 19, or the front door, PL 11.60 Item 5, is opened then closed.
Solution:
–
Ensure the staple cartridge is fully seated.
–
Ensure that the correct staple cartridge is installed.

Scanner
Possible causes and potential solutions are:
•
Grinding.
Possible causes are:
–
The scan carriage is moving erratically and the scan motor is generating a grinding
sound. The teeth of the scanner drive belt are not engaging with the capstan on the
scan motor.
Solution:
–
Perform ADJ 14.3B Scan Motor and Scanner Drive Belt adjustment.
•
Knocking.
Possible causes are:
–
If the scan carriage moves to the right and repeatedly knocks against the frame
together with the UI screen remaining blank.
Solution.
–
Check the condition of CR15 on the IOT PWB. Refer to the OF7 IOT PWB Diagnos-
tics RAP.
Network controller
Bleeping from the network controller. Remove and re-seat all of the PWBs in the network con-
troller.
