Description
Using the link-protocol ppp command, you can configure the link layer protocol of the
interface to PPP.
Default link layer protocol is PPP.
PPP is a link layer protocol supporting network layer packets over the point-to-point link.
PPP supports LCP (link control protocol), NCP (network-layer control protocol), PAP
(Password Authentication Protocol) and CHAP (Challenge Handshake Authentication
Protocol). PPP is widely deployed because it provides user authentication, is easy to
scale, and supports synchronization and asynchronization.
