3.1.36 router id

Syntax
router id router-id

router_id: Router ID that will identify the router running OSPF exclusively in dotted
decimal.
Description
Using the router id command, you can configure router ID that will identify the router
running OSPF exclusively. Using the undo router id command, you can cancel the
assigned router ID.
By default, the smallest IP address of the router is used as the router ID.
The router ID is a 32bit unsigned integer that uniquely identifies the router within the
AS. If none of the interfaces of the router is configured with an IP address, you must
configure the router ID in OSPF view or the OSPF cannot run. Note that the
modification to the router ID comes into effective after reboot of the router.
The router ID is necessary and should better be set to the IP address of certain
interface of the router.
