Usually, when a certain routing protocol is normally exiting, all the routes identified
Retain
by it will be deleted. However, those routes labeled with Retain will not be deleted.
These routes do not forward packets as normal routes do. Packets selecting routes
with the label of REJECT will be dropped, and such routes will send ICMP
Rej
unreachable message to the source of the packet. REJECT routes are usually
used for network tests or experiments.
BLACKHOLE route is similar to REJECT route. The difference is that it does not

send the ICMP unreachable message to the source end of the packet.
Holddown route means: a route broadcast policy adopted by some distance vector
routing protocols (like RIP) to avoid the broadcast of error routes and improve the
fast and accurate broadcast of the route unreachable message. Usually it
Holddown
broadcasts a certain route regularly during an interval, no matter what change has
occurred to the route to the same destination currently retrieved. For detail, please
consul the routing protocols. The routing table statistics display the number of
routes held down currently.
Delete
Number of routes deleted.
Some routes can not be used for a certain reason (like interface Down), but we do
not want them to be deleted. Therefore we hide them so that they can be
Hidden
recovered. The routing table statistics display the number of currently hidden
routes.
