Parameter
string: String for MD5 authentication, up to 16 bytes in length.
key-id: Key-id for MD5 authentication, ranging from 1 to 255.
Description
Using the ospf authentication-mode md5 command, you can configure the MD5
authentication key of an OSPF packet and key-id. Using the undo ospf authentication-mode
command, you can cancel the packet authentication performed on the interface.
By default, no authentication.
The authentication value will be written to the OSPF packet. It is necessary to
guarantee parameter consistency between neighboring routers at this interface.
Example
# Configure OSPF packets received at Serial 0 in md5 mode, the string is "hello" and
the key-id is 1.
[3Com-Serial0] ospf authentication-mode md5 hello 1
