negotiation: Set the fast Ethernet interface to work in the auto-negotiation mode.
10: Force the fast Ethernet interface to work in the 10Base-T (10Mbps) mode.
100: Force the fast Ethernet interface to work in the 100Base-TX (100Mbps) mode.
Description
Using the speed command, you can configure the speed mode of the 10/100Base
Ethernet interface by force. Using the undo speed command, you can restore the
default operating speed. This command is only effective for fast Ethernet interface.
By default, the speed for a Fast Ethernet interface is auto-negotiation.
While setting the fast Ethernet interface to speed negotiation, you must set its
remote end to work in the same mode. If this could not be achieved, then use forced
setting to ensure consistency in the working mode.
The execution of duplex negotiation after executing speed { 10 | 100 } at the fast
Ethernet interface will restore the working mode to speed negotiation. This will
automatically start the duplex auto process and negotiate the speed and the working
mode.
For related commands, see duplex, display interfaces.
Example
# Set the fast Ethernet interface to transmit at 10Mbps.
