Description
Using the fr congestion-threshold command, you can enable the congestion
management on a Frame Relay interface. Using the undo fr congestion-threshold
command, you can disable the congestion management on the Frame Relay interface.
The function of this command is similar to that of the congestion-threshold command.
The difference is that this command is applied on Frame Relay interfaces, whereas the
congestion-threshold command is applied on Frame Relay PVC.
The router will adopt the following two measures if congestion occurs:
Discard all the Frame Relay packets that are marked with DE bitand are
transmitted on the interface.
Process the BECN and FECN flag bits in the Frame Relay packets transmitted on
this interface. As for the forward packets to be forwarded, the router will set the
FECN flag bit in the Frame Relay packet headers to 1. As for the backward
packets on the same PVC, the router will set the BECN flag bit in the Frame Relay
packet headers to 1. If no backward packets are to be forwarded after a certain
period, the router will automatically transmit the Q922A Test Reponse packets
with the BECN flag bit 1 to the calling DTE.
Note:
This command can only be used on Frame Relay DCE interfaces or NNIs (Network-to-Network
Interfaces).
For related commands, see congestion-threshold.
Example
# Begin to process the flag bits in the Frame Relay packets when the interface
queueing length exceeds 80% of the total queueing length.
