Interface view
Parameter
seconds: Dead interval in seconds, ranging from 1 to 65535 seconds. The default
failure time of the opposite router is 40 seconds and 120 seconds respectively for the
point-to-point network interface and for the point-to-multipoint network or NBMS
network interface.
Description
Using the ospf timer dead command, you can configure the failure time of the
neighboring router. Using the undo ospf timer dead command, you can restore the
default failure time of the neighboring router.
It is necessary to guarantee parameter consistency between the neighboring routers
at this interface, and this dead interval should be at least 4 times the hello interval.
The failure time of the routers on the same network segment should be kept the
same.
The failure time of the opposite router is that interval during which no Hello packet is
received from the opposite router, and then the opposite router is considered as failed.
The failure time should be at least four multiples of the Hello time. The failure time of
the routers on the same network segment must be the same.
Please refer to related ospf timer hello command.
