View

Parameter
ip-address: IP address.
pool-number: pool-number, 0 for default pool.
Description
Using the remote address command, you can configure IP addresses for the peer
interface. Using the undo remote address command, you can cancel IP address
assignment for the peer interface.
By default, the interface does not assign addresses to the peer.
When the interface encapsulated with PPP does not have an IP address but its peer
has one, the negotiable IP address can be configured for it. Configure the ip address
ppp-negotiate command on the local router and the remote address command on
the peer router, this interface will then accept the IP address assigned to the peer via
PPP negotiation. This configuration is mainly used to obtain IP address assigned by
ISP when accessing Internet via ISP.
For related commands, see ip address ppp-negotiate.
Example
# The Serial0 encapsulated with PPP allocates the IP address 10.0.0.1 for the remote
end.
[3Com-Serial0] remote address 10.0.0.1
Network Protocol
9
