Parameter
interface-type: The type of the numbered interface.
interface-number: The number of the numbered interface.
Description
Using the ip address unnumbered command, you can configure an interface to use
the IP address of other interface. Using the undo ip address unnumbered
command, you can cancel the IP address used by the interface.
By default, this function is disabled.
The serial interface encapsulated with PPP, HDLC, Frame Relay, SLIP and Tunnel
can apply this command to use the IP address of an Ethernet interface of other
interfaces, whereas the Ethernet interface cannot use the IP address of other
interfaces. The interface that uses the IP address does not have its own IP address, it
cannot be added with a router, therefore, it must be manually configured with two
routes to implement the interconnection between routers.
