3Com Router Command Reference Guide — V1.00
MP allows a data packet to be fragmented and sent over different links to the
destination so as to reduce delay and improve network efficiency. However, too much
fragments will cause the redundant information to increase in the network and
decrease the useful network traffic. Generally speaking, packet fragmentation should
not be performed on the links with high speed or excessive error codes. When frags is
set to 1, the packet will not be fragmented.
The maximum number of fragments sent by the MP channel should be less than that
received by the remote end of the channel.
For related commands, see ppp mp max-bind, ppp mp max-receive-frags, ppp mp
user, ppp mp.
Example
# Set the maximum number of fragments sent by a MP channel to 5.
[3Com]ppp mp max-send-frags 5

1.1.15 ppp mp user

Syntax
ppp mp user user-name bind virtual-template number
undo ppp mp user user-name
View
System view
Parameter
user-name: User name.
number: Virtual template interface number.
Description
Using the ppp mp user command, you can configure MP binds based on the
username. Using the undo ppp mp user command, you can cancel the related
configuration.
The specified interface's link layer protocol should be configured to PPP, and its MP
attributes should be specified.
After the interface passes the PPP authentication, it will match the name of the remote
user with the virtual template interface's user-name. If they are the same, this interface
will be added into the corresponding virtual template interface. If the corresponding
user name is not found, there will be no binding.
For related commands, see ppp mp, ppp mp max-bind, ppp mp max-receive-frags,
ppp mp max-send-frags.
