Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 3 and the bat-
tery negative (−) lead to terminal 4, then check that the motor
operates at high speed.
If operation is not as specified, replace the motor with a new
one.

If operation is not as specified, replace the motor.

Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1, and the bat-
tery negative (−) lead to terminal 2 and the motor body, then
check that the motor operates intermittently for 9 − 15 seconds.
If operation is not as specified, replace the motor and relay with
2
new ones.

Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and the bat-
tery negative (−) lead to terminal 1, then check that the motor
operates.
NOTICE:
These tests must be performed quickly (within 20 seconds)
to prevent the coil from burning out.
If operation is not as specified, replace the motor with a new

WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEM
High Speed:
INSPECT FRONT WIPER MOTOR OPERATION
Stopping at Stop Position:
INSPECT FRONT WIPER MOTOR OPERATION
Operate the motor at low speed and stop the motor opera-
tion anywhere except at the stop position by disconnect-
ing the positive (+) lead from terminal 5.
Connect terminal 1 and 5.
Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and bat-
tery negative (−) lead to terminal 4, then check that the
motor stops running at the stop position after the motor
operates again.
Intermittent:
INSPECT REAR WIPER MOTOR AND RELAY OPERA-
TION
w/o Rear wiper:
INSPECT WASHER MOTOR OPERATION
